Jamshedpur: With just days left for New Year celebrations, the city police have intensified security measures to ensure a safe and orderly transition into 2024. Late-night inspections of hotels and lodges began on December 25, with police station in-charges checking registers, CCTV footage, and Aadhar details of occupants. Senior officers confirmed that random room searches were also conducted to eliminate potential threats.
“We want people to celebrate responsibly and without any disturbances,” a senior police officer remarked. Alongside hotel inspections, a campaign against drunk driving and reckless driving has been initiated. Vehicles are being checked late at night, targeting individuals driving under the influence, performing stunts, or exceeding speed limits. “Strict action will be taken against offenders,” the officer added.
Orders for intensified vigilance have been issued to all police stations, ensuring no loopholes in security arrangements during the festive season.
