Jamshedpur, June 19: In a significant development, the construction of affordable houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is underway in the Birsanagar residential project. A total of 9,592 houses are set to be constructed in 32 blocks, following the G+8 structure, as part of the housing project under the purview of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee.
Currently, construction work has commenced for a total of 7,372 houses. The first phase has allocated houses to 3,836 beneficiaries, while the second phase has assigned homes to a total of 834 beneficiaries, and the third phase has accommodated 696 beneficiaries. The allotment process has been conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur. As per the recent directive received from the Director of the Directorate of Urban Administration, the completion of 1,500 houses is currently underway. Beneficiaries who have already received the first installment of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 1,01,500 are expected to be relocated to their new homes before Diwali. Therefore, it is advised that all beneficiaries promptly submit their first and second installments to expedite the process of house allocation.
