Jamshedpur, June 19: Despite the ongoing door-to-door garbage collection efforts by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee since 2018, some societies and apartments in the city have been discreetly disposing of their waste in unauthorized locations, disregarding the prescribed service charges. In order to address this issue, the Jamshedpur Cell has been consistently campaigning to encourage proper garbage disposal practices.

On Monday, a tempo vehicle was spotted dumping garbage on the Kadma Uliyan road by Rajesh Rajak, the cleaning work overseer. Rajak immediately informed the Aksesh flying squad, which swiftly took action and intercepted the vehicle. During the inquiry, the driver revealed that the garbage belonged to Vijaya Heritage, a well-known society in the city. The Regional Revenue Officer collected a fine from the vehicle driver, and Special Officer Sanjay Kumar directed the issuance of a notice to Vijaya Heritage. The Special Officer emphasized that it is the responsibility of every citizen to maintain the cleanliness of the city. Any society or apartment found guilty of spreading filth will be subjected to punishment in accordance with the rules and regulations
