PM Modi’s Upcoming Visit to Lord Birsa Munda’s Birthplace Boosts Tribal Pride, Says Babulal Marandi

Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Ulihatu, the birthplace of Lord Birsa Munda, on November 15. In preparation for his visit, a meeting of the state BJP’s Scheduled Tribes (ST) Morcha was convened at the state BJP headquarters. During the meeting, it was decided that thousands of members of the tribal community would participate in the event, showcasing their traditional attire, traditional musical instruments such as Dhol, Nagara, Mandar, and a traditional Khodha dance team. The state party president, Babulal Marandi, was present at the gathering and highlighted the BJP government’s commitment to the welfare of tribal communities.

Babulal Marandi emphasized that the BJP government has consistently demonstrated its concern for tribals. Atal Vihari Vajpayee, during his tenure, established a separate state for the tribal population and created a dedicated Tribal Ministry. Building on Atal Ji’s legacy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has further elevated the pride and status of tribal society.

Marandi pointed out that Hemant Soren, who came to power by championing the causes of water, forest, land, and tribals, failed to adequately address tribal concerns over the past four years. Furthermore, incidents of violence against tribal girls and women have increased under the Hemant government. Marandi cited cases such as the murders of Rameshwar Murmu, Rupa Tirkey, Sandhya Topno, and Rubika Pahadia as examples of the safety challenges faced by the tribal community under the current government.

The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including State General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, Ramkumar Pahan, Ashok Badaik, Bindeshwar Oraon, Aarti Kujur, Sunil Fakira Kachhap, Roop Lakshmi Munda, Anu Lakda, Ravi Munda, and Nakul Tirkey.
