New Delhi (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a victory speech at the BJP headquarters on Monday, celebrating the party’s expansive electoral gains across the states bordering the Ganges. Reminiscing about his 2013 nomination in Varanasi, the Prime Minister noted that the BJP’s election symbol, the lotus, is now “blooming” in every state from the river’s source to its mouth.
A Divine Prophecy Fulfilled
The Prime Minister recalled his earlier predictions regarding the political shift in the region, particularly following the previous Bihar election results.
- The Ganga Belt: PM Modi highlighted that the BJP-led NDA now holds power in all states along the river’s path, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.
- From Gangotri to Ganga Sagar: He emphasized that the lotus is blooming across the entire stretch where the river travels before merging with the sea.
Reflection on the 2014 Nomination
PM Modi revisited his historic 2014 campaign, echoing the famous sentiment he expressed upon arriving in Kashi.
“In 2013, when I went to Kashi… I had said—Na mujhe kisi ne bulaya hai, na mujhe kisi ne bheja hai… maa ganga ne mujhe bulaya hai (Nobody has called me, nobody has sent me, Maa Ganga has called me),” he recounted.
He remarked that the current electoral success feels like a continued blessing from the river, reflecting the same spiritual connection he felt over a decade ago.
Commitment to Good Governance
Attributing the party’s record victories in various Assembly elections over the last two years to a “genuine commitment” to public service, the Prime Minister stated that voters are rewarding the BJP for its adherence to good governance. He noted that the public has bestowed a record mandate upon the party because they recognize its dedication to the nation.
