Collectorate Staff Complete Self-Enumeration for Census 2027; DC Urges Public Participation

Jamshedpur: The staff of the East Singhbhum district administration completed the ‘Self-Enumeration’ process for Census 2027 at the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday. The district administration is now calling on all residents to engage with the digital registration process to ensure accurate data collection for future planning.

Census Timeline and Phases

District Settlement Officer-cum-Census Officer Mojahid Ansari outlined the schedule for the initial stages of the census:

• Self-Enumeration Phase: This first phase is currently active and runs from May 1 to May 15.
• House Listing and Enumeration: From May 16 to June 14, enumerators will conduct door-to-door data collection across the district.

How to Participate

Residents can complete the self-enumeration process digitally using a mobile phone or laptop via the official portal.

• Digital Registration: Citizens are encouraged to register their details online during the specified window.
• SE ID Generation: Upon successful data submission, the portal generates an 11-digit Self-Enumeration (SE) ID.
• Verification: Residents must present this 11-digit ID to the enumerator during their subsequent verification visit.

Importance of the Census

Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan emphasized that the census serves a much larger purpose than simple statistics. He noted that it is a “crucial tool for planning and ensuring effective delivery of government schemes to eligible beneficiaries”. The administration stressed that completing the process within the timeline is vital for strengthening the district’s future development planning.
