Jamshedpur: In a significant boost to regional connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) Passenger train between Tatanagar and Badampahar through virtual mode during his visit to Sindri.
Meanwhile, the inauguration ceremony, held at platform number one of the Tatanagar railway station, marked the first-ever flagging off of an EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) train for this route.
Dignitaries present at the event included BJP District President Sudhanshuojha, former MLA Maneka Sardar, District Council President Bari Murmu, along with enthusiastic participation from railway employees and officers. The ceremony highlighted the importance of the newly introduced MEMU service, which is set to revolutionize the railway commute experience for the residents in the region.
This MEMU train, the fourth local train connecting Tatanagar and Badampahar, brings a novel schedule catering to the convenience of commuters. Departing from Tatanagar in the evening and returning from Badampahar at night, this service fills a crucial gap for laborers, students, and villagers commuting from Jamshedpur for various purposes.
To enhance passenger convenience, the Railways announced the commencement of the 08153/08154 Tatanagar-Badampahar-Tatanagar MEMU service, effective from March 2, 2024.

Key Schedule Information: 08153 Tatanagar-Badampahar MEMU: Departs daily from Tatanagar at 18:00 hrs, reaching Badampahar at 21:05 hrs.
08154 Badampahar-Tatanagar MEMU: Daily departure from Badampahar at 21:15 hrs, arriving at Tatanagar at 23:30 hrs.

Stoppage Points: The MEMU train will make stoppages at Haludpukur, Sidhirsai, Bahalda Road, Aunlajori, Gorumahisani (only in Up direction), Rairangpur, Kuldiha, and Chhanua, ensuring accessibility for passengers in these areas.

Inaugural Run Highlights: On the inaugural day, March 1, 2024, the 08157 Tatanagar-Badampahar MEMU Special made its historic run, departing from Tatanagar at 11:00 hrs and arriving at Badampahar at 14:05 hrs, marking the commencement of regular services.
This new MEMU service is poised to bring about a positive transformation in the daily commuting experience, offering increased accessibility and extended service hours for the benefit of the residents in the region. The introduction of this MEMU train aligns with the government’s commitment to bolstering transportation infrastructure and fostering regional development.
