PM Modi advocates data-driven policing over force; Emphasizes women’s safety under new laws

Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 58th All India Conference of Directors General/Inspectors General of Police in Jaipur, stressing the need for a transition to data-driven policing instead of relying solely on traditional methods. PM Modi highlighted the importance of adapting to modern technologies and leveraging data for effective law enforcement.

Discussing the recently enacted criminal justice laws, PM Modi emphasized a citizen-centric approach, stating that the new laws embody the principles of ‘citizen first, dignity first, justice first.’ The implementation of these laws marks a transformative shift in India’s criminal justice system, aiming to enhance fairness and protection for all citizens.

Special attention has been devoted to raising awareness among women and girls about their rights and ensuring their protection under the new legal framework. PM Modi underscored the significance of women’s safety, urging a conducive environment where they can work without fear, “anytime and anywhere.”

The call for a data-centric approach aligns with the broader global trend of leveraging technology to enhance policing effectiveness, promote transparency, and protect citizens’ rights.
