Jamshedpur: A leader of banned ultra outfit People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was arrested from Tiali Sood village of West Singhbhum district by a joint team of distirct police and CRPF.
The arrested ultra Sonaram Sundi along with villagers was hatching a plan when the security forces nabbed him.
The team from district police and CRPF, raided one Ramkamal Das�s house and arrested Sundi. The forces recovered one rifle, five cartridges and one magazine. The operation was codenamed Karo 2.
Superintendent of Police N K Singh said: �The police received a secret information that some ultras of banned outfit and hatching plan. Acting on a tip-off we succeeded in raiding house.
It is a major achievement for the security forces engaged in the anti-Maoist operation here. After intelligence reports alerted us we formed a team of district police and other security forces for this operation and successfully executed it�. ���
The SP informed that during interrogation the accused has confessed his crime and on his directions the forces also nabbed Ramkamal Das and recovered five cartridges, four rifles, and literature related to PLFI was recovered.
“Acting on a tip off the team of police and para-military forces raided. After an interrogation of the rebel and the subsequent search, the team finally discovered the explosives,” said the SP.
Sources informed that the police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas. �Security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxalites.

�There has been a substantial increase in Maoist activities in this. We are not much concerned about small acts of violence because these activities can be controlled by us, but the bigger attacks are worrisome,� said a security official.
According to information the security forces besides taking up other issues, recently resolved to increase ‘joint operation’ with the neighbouring states in all the naxal infested blocks of the three districts that are attached to bordering states of West Bengal and Odisha.
It may be mentioned here that Bandhgaon is a part of rebels’ corridor is the district of West Singhbhum. The place is covered with dense jungle, the Maoists consider it an safe place for holding meetings or organising training camps on regular basis.
