Hemant Soren launches Jharkhand Tourism logo, website and hands over appointment letter
Ranchi: In a move aimed at promoting Jharkhand’s tourist destinations globally, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday inaugurated the logo and website of Jharkhand Tourism and Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC) at the state secretariat. Addressing a gathering of newly appointed candidates from the Urban Development and Housing Department, Soren emphasized the critical role of these officials in ensuring efficient service delivery and urban planning.
The Chief Minister urged the new appointees to perform their duties with full dedication and skill, highlighting the importance of structured development in rapidly expanding urban areas. He said that planned growth of cities is essential to provide better civic amenities and to prevent the challenges arising from unregulated urban sprawl.
Speaking on tourism, Soren noted that Jharkhand is endowed not only with mineral wealth but also with unique natural beauty, offering vast potential for tourism. “Promoting tourism will strengthen the state’s economy, create new employment opportunities, and benefit local communities, especially in remote and rural areas,” he said. The newly launched tourism logo and website will showcase Jharkhand’s heritage and scenic sites to the world while attracting domestic and international visitors.
The ceremony also marked the issuance of appointment letters to 19 selected candidates under the Urban Development and Housing Department, the launch of the Cultural Team Management System (CTMS) application connecting state artists to digital platforms, and the release of “Savouring Jharkhand,” a book on Jharkhandi cuisine by the Hotel Management Institute, Bombay, Ranchi.
The Chief Minister congratulated and wished the newly appointed candidates.
“I have full hope that you will discharge your responsibilities with full devotion and efficiency for the proper development of the state. Your role will be very important in providing better civic facilities and services to the people living in the urban area,” said Soren.
The Chief Minister said that nature has given Jharkhand not only mineral wealth, but also a unique gift of natural beauty. There are immense possibilities in the field of tourism in Jharkhand.
“But somewhere due to some reason or the other, this area had remained untouched by development till now. But, our government is trying to get the rich social cultural heritage and natural beauty of our state recognized on the map of the country and the world. Many steps have been taken to promote tourism. In this connection, the logo and website related to the tourism department have been unveiled today. Through this, we can not only show the beautiful tourist places of Jharkhand to the world, but will also be able to attract tourists,” said Soren.
Key dignitaries present included Minister Sudivya Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, CM’s Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Sunil Kumar, and Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar.
