Jamshedpur, April 2: The Department of Commerce and Business Management at successfully organized an enriching industrial visit for the students of M.Com Semester IV, offering them valuable exposure to real-world business operations. The initiative was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Vice Chancellor Professor Ela Kumar, with active support from the faculty members.
The visit was meticulously coordinated under the direction of Dean Dr. Deepa Sharan and Head of Department Dr. Kamini Kumari. Students were taken to RSB Industries, where they were divided into two groups to explore Unit 1 and Unit 3 of the company.

At Unit 3, the session began with an engaging introduction by HR Head Jaya Singh, who provided an overview of the company’s evolution and its diverse clientele. This was followed by an insightful presentation by Savita Kumari, who familiarized students with key products such as tag axle and live axle, while also highlighting the legacy of the founders, R. K. Behera and S. K. Behera. The students then toured the plant, observing the complete production cycle—from sub-components to finished axle systems—gaining firsthand understanding of manufacturing processes. Faculty members, including Dr. Deepa Sharan and Dr. Chhagan Lal Agarwal, guided the group throughout.

Meanwhile, at Unit 1, Planning HR Shubha Jha interacted with students, emphasizing the importance of industrial exposure in shaping their careers. Informative sessions by Deepak and Ravi covered plant layout, safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and operational efficiency. Students also gained insights into RSB’s financial performance, expansion strategies, ESG initiatives, and CSR activities, including the Miyawaki Forest project promoting sustainable afforestation.
The visit further highlighted RSB’s growing presence across domestic and international markets, along with its innovations in electric vehicle projects and diversification into non-automotive sectors. A guided plant tour reinforced classroom learning by allowing students to observe the step-by-step production of automotive components.
The Unit 1 group was accompanied by Dr. Kamini Kumari and Dr. Gloria Purti. Overall, the industrial visit proved to be an insightful and practical learning experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices.
