Picnic season in Jamshedpur: Police deploy plain-clothes officers and patrolling teams, CCTV surveillance to strengthen safety

Jamshedpur: With the onset of winter and the arrival of tourists and picnickers, the East Singhbhum district administration has initiated robust security measures to ensure safety at key tourist and picnic spots in and around Jamshedpur. Recognizing the surge in visitors during the season, the district police have rolled out a comprehensive security plan, including the deployment of officers in plain clothes, increased patrolling, and enhanced surveillance through CCTV cameras.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal has also issued a series of guidelines aimed at safeguarding tourists while promoting a secure and hassle-free environment.

Winter is synonymous with a rise in outings to popular destinations, drawing crowds from within the city and neighboring areas. However, the excitement of outings often leads to tourists overlooking safety precautions, increasing risks of accidents and other untoward incidents. To counter this, the district police have preemptively tightened security arrangements:

 Police personnel in civilian attire will be stationed at popular spots to discreetly monitor activities and address potential issues.

Dedicated patrolling teams will cover all major tourist destinations, ensuring a visible police presence to deter any anti-social activities.

Critical areas will be under CCTV monitoring to maintain vigilance and respond quickly to emergencies.

The SSP emphasized the importance of individual vigilance, stating that even the most stringent security measures require active cooperation from tourists. Visitors have been advised to stay alert, follow safety protocols, and report any suspicious activities. Additionally, the police have circulated helpline numbers, including those of the SP, DSP, and local station in-charges, prominently displayed at all major tourist and picnic locations.

In a stern warning, the SSP announced that individuals engaging in illegal or disruptive activities at these sites would face severe consequences. The police aim to create a safe atmosphere where tourists can enjoy their outings without fear or inconvenience.
