Jamshedpur: The Photographers Association of Jamshedpur celebrated its Foundation Day alongside its Annual Picnic with great enthusiasm at the scenic Dalma View Point on Sunday. The day-long event saw lively participation from professional photographers and their families, creating a festive atmosphere filled with camaraderie and celebration.
Set against the picturesque backdrop near Jamshedpur, the gathering strengthened bonds within the local photography community. Members exchanged experiences, captured memorable moments, and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting photography as both an art and a profession. The Foundation Day celebrations highlighted the association’s role in uniting photographers across the city and fostering creative growth.
The programme was chaired by the association’s president Anand Singh. Secretary Sardar Daljeet Singh and treasurer Shiv Shankar Gorai played a key role in the successful organisation of the event.
The celebration began with a welcome address by Anand Singh, following which former District Council Vice Chairman, East Singhbhum, Rajkumar Singh, attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the Foundation Day by cutting the cake. More than 100 photographers from the city participated in the programme.
President of Jharkhand Photographic Association (Central) Vapi Ghoshal and co-secretary Rupesh Kumar (Yash), along with several members of the central committee, were present at the event. Notable attendees included Chandeshwar Pandit, Umesh Sharma, Sanjay, Aarzoo Bhai, Shrikant Singh, Mahesh Rao, Harendra Tripathi, Shankar Sahu, Sunil Verma, Satish Singh, Mithun Jina, Sukanto Sahu, Ajit Patil, Shivaji and Ratan De.
Founder members of the association, including Ashok Kesari, Rupesh Kumar, Mahesh Kumar, Abhimanyu Kumar, Mukesh Prasad, Babulal Prasad and Vimlesh Singh, also actively participated in the celebrations.
The arrangements were efficiently managed by the current executive committee members Kamlesh Kumar, Rajesh Chauhan, Vinay Kumar, Balram Sardar, Rajnish Upadhyay, Ranjit Singh Gaibri, Om Prakash Shah and Harinarayan Prasad.
The event was not only a picnic but also a family get-together, with enthusiastic participation from photographers’ family members, especially spouses and children, which added warmth and joy to the occasion. Several recreational games were organized.
