PHC Ghodabanda wins Kayakalp Award for Cleanliness and Hygiene

Jamshedpur, Aug 24: Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ghodabanda, managed under a Public-Private Partnership with Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), has been awarded the prestigious Kayakalp Award 2024-25 by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India. The award recognizes health institutions that maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control, based on assessments and recommendations by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).

PHC Ghodabanda will receive ₹2 lakh as prize money, which will be utilized as an incentive for staff and for further developmental works at the centre. The PHC also functions as the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) for MTMC, providing essential healthcare services to the community while serving as a training ground for medical students.

MTMC, a constituent of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), expressed commitment to continuing its efforts toward quality medical education and community healthcare.
