Jamshedpur: Members of Singhbhum Pharmacists Association, Jamshedpur, have demanded recruitment of pharmacists in the various government and non-government medical institutions.
They met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Dr Amitabh Kaushal on Thursday in this connection and handed over a memorandum to him demanding measures to ensure availability of pharmacists in medical stores across the city.
They alleged that at many places, pharmacists were either not available or if available, were made to work longer hours than prescribed.
The outfit convenor Dharmendra Singh said the disposal of bio-medical waste was not done properly in most of the government hospitals in the district, save for a few of them.
They said the proper disposal of bio-medical waste should be ensured in both government and private hospitals and nursing homes.
