People brave rains for obtaining pollution certificates in Jadugoda

Mail News Service

Jadugoda, Sept 13: With high end penalty charges being imposed for traffic violations as per the revised provisions of the Motor vehicles Act, availing of pollution certificates for vehicles has become a compulsion. Various pollution check centres are seeing huge crowds waiting patiently to get the emission test done. The crowds that are swelling every day do not seem to abate to show the number of vehicles running on roads.

The situation is no different at Jadugoda where a sole pollution check centre functions at the Sahadeo Petrol Pump on the vital Jadugoda Main Road. Even heavy downpours failed to deter the urgency of people standing in incessantly growing queues to get that vital certificate. Seeing the urgency of the vehicle owners especially those owning two wheelers, the pollution check centre owners have raised the prevailing rate from Rs 50 to Rs 80. But people have no other alternative but to pay up.

The good news is that on September 14, another fuel dealer Khemka Petrol Pump will start a pollution test centre. The charges here will be Rs 70 instead of Rs 80. This petrol pump is on the Jadugoda Narwa main road.
