Jamshedpur: The cloud of abject poverty that hovered over their miserable lives, dissipated as 40 needy, poor, helpless, and widows received their old age pension certificates from Mukhiya Bahmuni Hembram and Deputy Mukhiya Sunil Gupta at the Panchayat Bhawan in Bagbera Colony.

Sunil Gupta stated on the occasion that under the National Old Age Pension Scheme, the pension holders would be getting Rs 600 per month which will be transferred directly into their bank accounts.

It was due to the dedicated efforts of the Mukhiya, Deputy Mukhiya and the Panchayat representative who went from door to door in the Bagbera Colony Panchayat indentifying people eligible for pension and getting the relevant forms filled that ultimately saw smiles of satisfaction and gratitude on the faces of the 40 people who had seen the darker side of destiny until today.

The 40 new pensioners included Uday Narayan Mishra, Pashupati Pandey, Nirmala Kaur, M Appa Rao, Sudha Srivastav, Chhote lal Singh, Sita Devi and the rest. Ward Member Chandrakant Singh was also present.
