Parv Raval and G Shruti shine in 5 km event at TSAF Open Water Swimming in Jamshedpur

TSAF makes a splash with maiden open water swim at Dimna Lake

Jamshedpur, December 15: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF)  hosted maiden Open Water Swimming Competition on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the scenic Dimna Lake, marking a historic moment for Eastern India’s sporting landscape. This pioneering event aims to popularize open water swimming and position Jamshedpur as a future hub for the sport.

Open water swimming is gaining momentum across India, and TSAF’s initiative provided an exciting platform for swimmers from diverse backgrounds to showcase their endurance and skill. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with 93 participants from 12 states competing in multiple categories.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Debasish Choudhury (Principal Executive Officer). The flag-off was conducted by Capt. Manish Sinha (Head Sports) and Hemant Gupta (Head TSAF & Sports Academies). The award ceremony was presided over by Mukul Vinayak Choudhari (Chief Sports) alongside Debasish Choudhury.

Safety First

Participant safety remains TSAF’s top priority. The course will be closely monitored by trained lifeguards, rescue rafts, Kayak, Motorboat, Scuba Diver, emergency response teams and stationed ambulance on the event. Additionally, all swimmers were required to wear a tow float buoy for enhanced visibility and safety.
