Jamshedpur: Concerns have been raised by parents of numerous students who failed in the 9th and 11th grades in private schools, expressing skepticism regarding the fairness of the retests proposed by the schools. Worried about potential deliberate attempts by school management to fail their children, parents have sought intervention from the district administration to ensure transparency in the examination process.

On Thursday, parents of students who failed in the aforementioned classes once again approached the office of SDO Parul Singh to voice their concerns. They expressed apprehension that the school management might intentionally attempt to fail their children during the retests. To address this, parents urged the SDO to ensure that the retests are conducted under the supervision of the district administration, ensuring transparency and fairness.

This year, more than a thousand students have faced failure in class 9 and class 11 across various schools in the city. School management has justified these failures by citing the students’ lack of improvement despite repeated instructions. However, following the district administration’s intervention, private schools have agreed to conduct retests. Nevertheless, concerns remain among parents regarding the impartiality of these retests.

Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh (Parents Association) has raised objections to the exclusive involvement of private schools in conducting the retests and has demonstrated in front of the SDO office to highlight their concerns. The association has urged the district administration to oversee the examination process to prevent potential biases and ensure justice for the failed students.

Dr. Umesh Kumar, President of the Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh , emphasized the need for the district administration to take action to prevent similar incidents in the future. He suggested banning private school teachers from providing tuition to students to mitigate any conflicts of interest.
