Ranchi, Nov. 25: Sunil Kumar Burnwal, secretary to Chief Minister Raghubar Das ordered the formation of a team of three departments to stop illegal mining in Koderma. The team will work under the observation of Koderma Deputy Commissioner.
Assigning the responsibility of investigation to Koderma Deputy Commissioner, Burnwal said that a joint team comprising forest, mines and police department should be formed and mining should be stopped at once. According to reports, illegal mining of blue pearl, semi-precious stones and mica is going on at Domchach, Dhav and neighboring villages around Jhumri Tilaiya.
It is worth mentioning here that four people had lost their lives in illegal mining a fortnight ago. The mining department, Koderma, has lodged 220 complaints so far and action is pending against 431 persons in this connection. Taking cognizance in this regard the secretary ordered immediate action.
Regarding non-payment of pension and retirement benefits of Nandlal Mandal, a retired officer of the state irrigation department retired assistant engineer from Chandil, Burnwal said that the concerned department should prepare all papers within two to three months prior to a person�s retirement. He directed the officers of concerned departments to issue a show cause notice as to why the payment has not been done even four months after Mandal�s retirement.
Burnwal said that the due amount, pension and gratuity should be paid to the beneficiary at the time of retirement and dereliction of any type will not be tolerated. In case of any departmental proceeding, it should be clearly mentioned so that nobody should suffer.
Referring to the murder of Shankar Yadav on February 13 this year in a place under the Shahebganj mofussil police station, the secretary asked the police officers why investigation could not be completed even in nine months. He ordered to complete the investigation soon.
Regarding supply of electricity, the secretary directed JBVNL to sort out the problem. Apart from this, payment of due salary of Deepak Kumar of Bokaro, payment of compensation amount against land accusation in Deoghar, water supply from water tower in Dhanbad, land dispute of Sukanti Devi of Ghumla, construction of Panchayat Building in East Singhbhum, death of a worker at a brick factory in Hazaribag, widow pension of a woman in Khunti and many complaints were reviewed by the secretary.
He directed the officials to sort out all the cases soon.
