Jamshedpur: A delegation comprising panchayat representatives and led by Jamshedpur block deputy chief Afzal Akhtar visited Sopodera in Parsudih on Saturday and carried out a cleanliness drive at the Chhath venues.
Excavators were also pressed into service to level the roads leading to Chhath ghats. Bleaching powder was also sprinkled along the roadside.
The delegation members said the cleanliness drive was conducted at the request of local residents.
Among those who participated in the drive included Sanjay Yadav, Manoj Kumar Jha, Prabhu Ram Munda, Sudha Devi, Champa Gagrai and Sumit Sharma.
