Overhaul of JMM Jharkhand district-level leadership ahead of national convention

Kalpana Soren likely to get important post in organisation

Ranchi, January 17: The central committee of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)  has dissolved all the district level and booth level committees with immediate effect except Dumka, Dhanbad and Hazaribagh districts and formed new committees.

According to the order issued by the central committee of JMM on Friday, the appointment of the members of the convener’s committee has come into effect with immediate effect from the time of issuance of the letter, along with this some instructions have also been given to the nominated conveners.

The instruction asks the convenors to ensure that the party’s membership campaign is run on a war footing from 18 January 2025 to 28 February 2025.

“For the successful conduct of the membership campaign, leaders and workers of all levels will be involved while getting support and guidance from the office bearers and members of the central committee of the party and senior leaders. Rising above personal interest, we will work to make the membership campaign successful in the interest of the party,” the party order states.

It also asks that after forming/reorganizing all panchayat and ward Committees within the next 45 days in coordination with the office bearers and members of the central committee, the names for the formation/reorganization of block/city/metropolitan committees (including contact number and WhatsApp number) will be compulsorily recommended and submitted to the central office.

Along with this, it was said that from 18 January 2025, the general membership form of the party is available at the party’s central office (camp) located at Harmu, Ranchi. The convener chief and members of the district coordinator circle of the party can get the membership form from the party office.

The step assumes significance in view of JMM’s national convention like to be organized in April. The date and place are not yet decided.

There is a discussion going on about the name of Ranchi or Dumka. Representatives from Bihar, Assam, Odisha, Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu are also likely to attend the national convention.

This time preparations are being made to hold a convention on a large scale along with the celebration of victory in JMM.

There are talks in JMM that Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren can get an important responsibility in the party. She had performed brilliantly as a star campaigner in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. She has also got the credit for giving the party a great victory.
