Over 2700 kg crackers seized in Jamshedpur raid

Jamshedpur: The firecrackers seized in the Jugsalai firecracker case were weighed. The total weight of the crackers was 2,792 kg.

All the firecrackers were given to legitimate licensee Gulati and other firecracker traders as caretakers for safekeeping.

It is known that on Monday, the district administration team had conducted a surprise raid in Jugsalai Chowk Bazaar and Station Road and arrested three illegal firecracker traders.

 

In this, 1932 kg firecrackers were seized from Lochan Mangotiya, owner of Gene Enterprises Firecracker of Chowk Bazaar, Station Road.

 

Around 380 kg firecrackers were recovered from the house of Bharat Traders owner Gurmed Singh and 480 kg firecrackers were recovered from the house of firecracker businessman Vicky Kheerwal near Chowk Bazaar.

The quantity was determined by the weight of the seized firecracker. Also, on the basis of the written statement of Jyotipunj Pandey, city manager of Jugsalai Municipal Council, a case was registered against illegal firecracker traders Lochan Mangotia, Gurmed Singh and Vicky Khirwal for violating the Explosives Act.

 

The district administration has issued a press release saying that sale and storage of firecrackers without license is prohibited. Under any circumstances, legal action will be taken against the accused under the Explosives Act for buying, selling and storing firecrackers without a license by an individual or an institution.
