Jamshedpur, March 17: The weather forecast for Jharkhand indicates the likelihood of rain over the next four days, with an orange alert issued by the Meteorological Department. Along with rain, hailstorms, strong winds, and thunderstorms are anticipated during this period.
The change in weather patterns is attributed to anti-cyclonic conditions resulting from moisture and low-level pressure. Light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunder was reported in southern and adjacent central parts of the state on Sunday.
A drop in maximum temperatures by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius is anticipated over the next two days. Recent weather observations indicate light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain areas of the state, with reports of hailstorms in Ranchi and Bokaro districts.
West Singhbhum recorded the highest rainfall at 32.4 mm, while Daltonganj in Palamau registered the highest temperature at 34.6 degrees Celsius. Conversely, Lohardaga reported the lowest temperature at 16.7 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, isolated areas in the southern and adjacent central regions may experience light to moderate rain with thunder, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. A yellow alert has been issued for these conditions.
An orange alert has been issued for March 19, with the possibility of hailstorms and heavy rain expected in Gumla, Khunti, Ranchi, Simdega, and West Singhbhum. Thunderstorms with gusts of strong winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/hr are also anticipated at isolated places.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunder is forecast for many areas in the state on March 20 and 21, with the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds at isolated places.
