One person dies in road mishap on Tata-Kandra Main Road

Jamshedpur, Feb 15: A commuter trying to cross the road was killed after being dashed by a speeding car on Tata-Kandra Main Road near Chotta Gamharia petrol pump on Sunday late night. 
The deceased has been identified as Salku Tuddu (50), a resident of Chotta Gamharia. Irate residents blocked the road in protest against rising cases of road mishap. 
The deceased has two sons and two daughters and one of the daughter was to be married on February 17. 
According to police, while crossing the road Salku was hit by a car coming from Kandra and as he fell down another car coming from behind also ran over him leading to his death on the spot. Both the car fled from the spot after the mishap. Both Kandra and Gamharia police reached the spot and pacified the locals to lift the blockade. The locals alleged that they have been demanding for a high mast lamp on that point as it has witnessed several road mishaps. However, street light has not yet been installed . Even the CCTV camera installed on the road is not functional.
