Jamshedpur, March 24: Two youth on a motorcycle snatched a mobile phone near Rajendranagar in Sakchi and tried to escape. People chased and caught hold of one of them while the other managed to escape.
According to information, Bhuinyadih resident Vijay Mandal was walking along the main road near Rajendranagar on Wednesday afternoon while talking on his mobile phone. Just then, two youth on a motorcycle snatched the phone from Mandal and tried to escape. Mandal along with other passersby gave chase and caught one of the snatchers while another escaped. The people thrashed the phone snatcher and handed him over to the police. The snatcher told police that he was a resident of Golmuri and said that his name was Roshan. However, the police are not taking him on his word. During interrogation, he told police that he had snatched another mobile phone in the morning near the Jail Chowk in Sakchi. He has also divulged the name of his accomplice who managed to escape. Police have launched a hunt for him.
