Jamshedpur, March 11: A 20 year old man, identified as Shasti Mahato, resident of Maliyanta village of MGM police station area died in a road accident on the National Highway 33 early Saturday morning. His companion, Anil Singh, was critically injured in the incident. He is under treatment at Tata Main Hospital.
Sources said the mishap occurred when the victims were coming to Jamshedpur on a bike for daily work. As they reached Palasbani, an unknown vehicle knocked down their bike. Both were critically injured in the incident. Shasti died at the scene. Local villagers rushed both victims to MGM Hospital where doctors declared Shasti brought dead and referred Anil to TMH. The errant vehicle driver fled the scene after the incident. Police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection.
