Jamshedpur: A woman died while five others were injured in a road accident near Baramara village of Chakulia police station area on Monday.
Sources said the mishap occurred when 18 members of a family were on their way to the Radha Krishna temple in Shyamsunderpur Thakurbari of Chakulia all the way from Gidhni in West Bengal. The family had also planned a picnic near the temple.
They were in three vehicles. Near Baramara, a front tyre of one of the cars, a Tata Indica, burst, leading the vehicle to turn turtle. The car ended in the fields after overturning several times. One of the passengers, identified as Mausami Choudhary, 28, died at the scene. Five others were critically injured. They were taken to the Chakulia Community Health Centre.
Local residents rushed to the scene and helped the distressed passengers. They expressed grief over the fatality.
