One dead, three hurt in Dhalbhumgarh road mishap

Jamshedpur, May 3: One person died while three got seriously injured in a road accident in Dhalbhumgarh late Monday night, police said.

The deceased was identified as Kiriti Singh of Bhomradih village under Jharna panchayat. His companions, Balram Singh, Akash Singh and Gulab Singh were severely injured in the incident. They were taken to Ghatsila Sub Divisional Hospital where their condition was reportedly stable, police said.

The mishap reportedly occurred around midnight when a Tata Magic pick-up van carrying eight villagers of Galudih rammed into the wall of a roadside house at high speed. The vehicle was damaged in the impact. Local MLA Ramdas Soren visited the hospital to see the victims.

According to sources, the eight passengers were returning from Lavbani, West Bengal, after attending a wedding ceremony.
