Baharagora: A one day camp on menstrual hygiene was conducted in the Kasturba Gandhi Girls School here today. Girls of classes 9, 10 and 12 participated in the camp.
The students were told that menstruation was a normal physiological process and needed to be discussed with an open mind. The participants were told that use of sanitary napkins was immensely hygienic and prevented infection. The program was organized by UNICEF. A relevant Bengali play, �Dot Com� was presented on the occasion and the artistes were trained by Antu Guchchhait, Dipali Bera and block coordinator of SAMBHAV, Pashupati Mahto. The school warden Gurubari Mardi and teacher Binita Birua also provided guidelines on menstrual hygiene to the student participants.
