Odisha Governor Raghubar Das performs Kanya Puja 

Jamshedpur, October 25. The newly- appointed Governor of Odisha and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das performed Kanya Puja with his family at Sheetla Mata  in Bhalubasa on the occasion of Maha Navami on Monday.

After performing havan in the temple premises along with his wife Rukmani Devi and son Lalit Das, daughter-in-law Purnima Lalit Das, son-in-law and other family members, he performed the Aarti of Maa Durga and worshiped the Shakti Swarupa girls.

Raghubar Das took the blessings of nine girls symbolizing the nine forms of Maa Durga by washing their feet, adorning them, wearing chunari, ringing bells and performing aarti and worshiping them with full rituals.

During this time Bhairav Baba was also worshipped. Raghubar Das served food in the form of halwa, puri-sabzi, kheer and sweets with his own hands to 121 little girls in the temple courtyard. After Kanya Puja, he presented Dakshina to the girls and expressed his best wishes for their bright future.

Raghubar said that with the blessings of Maa Sheetala, he has  received the new responsibility and will serve the people of Odisha by following the constitutional arrangements with full honesty.

Raghubar also visited puja pandals of the city.
