Odisha Governor Raghubar Das participates in Chhath rituals in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur : In a continuation of his tradition, former Chief Minister and current Odisha Governor, Raghubar Das, offered morning ‘arghya’ to the Sun God at the Surya Mandir in Sidhgora, accompanied by his family. Das emphasized the festival’s empowering essence, expressing his belief that Chhath’s energy would propel Jharkhand to new heights of development.
He was engaged in philanthropic activities, distributing milk for ‘arghya’ on the premises of Surya Mandir. He extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Chhath, the prominent festival of both Jharkhand and neighbouring Bihar.
The Mahakaleshwar ghat on the banks of the Kharkai River in Jugsalai stood out for its excellent management and facilities. Operated by the Mahakaleshwar Chhat Ghat Samity, a non-profit group, this ghat boasted elaborate decorations and featured changing rooms for ‘vratis’ (devotees), along with separate makeshift toilets for men and women. The district administration implemented extensive security measures to ensure a smooth and secure celebration.
