Bal Mela 2023 inaugurated in Jamshedpur on World Children’s Day

Jamshedpur, Nov 20: Commemorating World Children’s Day, the inauguration ceremony of Children’s Fair 2023 took place at the Sidhgora Sun Temple Town Hall and Children Park grounds. The event was organized collaboratively by Swanarekha Kshetra Vikas Trust and the State Child Protection Commission.

Bholanath Singh, Vice President of the Asian Hockey Federation, and Dr. Madhukanth Pathak, Treasurer of the Athletes Federation of India, graced the occasion as the inaugural chief guests. Former Bihar Government Minister Amarendra Pratap Singh, Child Rights Protection Commission members Sunil Kumar Verma and Sanjay Mishra, Anjula Sagar from SCERT, former Khadigram Industries Chairman Jaynandu, Krida Bharati Provincial Minister Rajeev Kumar, Ashok Goyal, and other dignitaries attended as special guests.

The opening ceremony included the traditional lighting of the lamp by the guests, followed by a Yagya program organized by the Gayatri Parivar with 1001 lamps in the Town Hall grounds.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Saryu Roy expressed the primary objective of organizing the Children’s Fair, emphasizing the need for the clean development of Jamshedpur’s children in the right direction. He highlighted the importance of implementing national and state laws and acts designed for the welfare of children. Roy announced plans to develop the Sidhgora complex into a sports park, naming it Sidhgora Sports Park. This initiative aims to create a comprehensive sports facility outside Tata Steel, serving as a prominent sports option in Jamshedpur.

The 5-day fair will feature sports competitions for students from class 1 to class 12, along with educational programs and entertainment. Experts from the sports and education sectors will participate, with the State Child Protection Commission acting as a key partner. Rai disclosed that he has approved schemes exceeding Rs 71 lakh from his MLA fund to enhance the sports complex, expressing a desire for the construction of a half-Olympic size swimming pool, a volleyball court, a table tennis court, and more.
