Jamshedpur: District social welfare department took 22 children of the Observation Home at Karandih to Tata Zoo on a picnic-cum-excursion here on Sunday. National Education Project (NEP) director Ranjana Mishra led the programme which aimed at giving exposure to the children in conflict with law to Nature and animals. Dr Seema Rani informed the visitors about animals, their eating habits and importance. After visiting the zoo, the children took a pledge to protect animals. They also enjoyed the picnic. A lunch was organzied by Sri Satya Sai Seva Sansthan. Nine children from Sahyog Village also participated in the picnic. Those who accompanied the children included Sunil Prasad, M Ravi Shastri, Samyukta Choudhary, Alpana Bhattacharya, Ranjeet Kumar Singh, Dilip Kumar and Inderjeet Singh.
