Nuvoco launches Mason Skill Development Program

Jamshedpur, Sep 26: Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd, India’s fifth-largest cement producer, has launched the Nuvo Mason Skill Development Program in Panagarh, West Bengal, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The program is designed to benefit the unorganized masonry sector, offering certified masonry training to 50 participants from nearby villages of the company’s Panagarh Cement Plant.

The 300-hour training program covers both theoretical and practical skills in tile masonry for floors and walls and is aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). Upon completion, participants will be certified by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). This initiative, in collaboration with MNG Academy, aims to enhance employability in the construction industry, fostering wage parity and creating sustainable livelihoods.

The program was inaugurated by Indira Chakraborty, Pradhan of Kota Gram Panchayat, and Pawan Royal, Plant Head at Panagarh Cement Plant, alongside government officials and local villagers. Royal emphasized the program’s goal of empowering local youth through skill development, promoting financial independence, and improving their quality of life.

Indira Chakraborty expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting the positive impact on local employment opportunities and skill development for youth.

Launched in FY2022-23, NUVO Mason operates across Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Haryana, and Jharkhand, benefiting over 500 youth, including women, by enhancing their income and integrating them into mainstream society.
