Nurses’ Day celebration: Mamta Bibhar bags ‘Outstanding Nurse’ award

Jamshedpur, May 12: Tata Motors Nursing Team organized Nurses’ Day Celebration on the occasion of International Nurses’ Day at Telco Club on Thursday.

Chief guest for the function was Sumant Kumar Sinha, GM (IR, W & CSR), Tata Motors, while guest of honor was Mary Kutty Babu, nursing superintendent, Tata Main Hospital.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest said, “Today is the day of the nurse. Nurses should feel proud that they are a united community, striving hard, day in and out to bring a smile on patients face. At Tata Motors, we have succeeded in doing so by offering quality nursing care laced with compassion and will continue to do so.”

Nurses present on the occasion said, today, when we commemorate nurses’ day and take delight in the work we are doing, let us not forget the fact that we will be faced with new challenges in the days to come, and every day is going to be a learning process. In order to be prepared, we have to raise the bar and push ourselves to be more skilful, compassionate and committed.

“In celebrating international nurses’ day, we want to draw attention to the invaluable role played by the nurses in delivering quality healthcare to the sick, through Tata motors. We live in a world where technological advances have made life easier, but, the human heart and the human soul can never be replaced by technology, and in this sense, the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale was well ahead of her time, realizing that human suffering can only be healed, in an environment where a patient receives personal care, human-to-human,” said a nurse.

At the event awards for the best nursing staff was also presented were Best Nursing In-charge award was given to Bahamani, Best Nursing Supervisor award was presented to Ancy Jojo, Outstanding Nurse award was bagged by Mamta Bibhar, Best Nursing Associate was Mary Gorettik, while Best Nursing Intern award was given away to Puja Sharma.

Dignities present at the program included Dr. M L Ali, Head, Medical Services, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, DGM, Surgical Services, Amlesh Kumar, president, TWU, Prakash Kumar, general secretary, TWU, Sqn. Ldr N S Kadian, D M (Sec, HA & GT), Partha Mukhopadhyay, manager (Hospital Administration), and other Tata Motors senior executives.
