Jamshedpur, January 21: Andhra Association English School, Kadma, celebrated Annual Sports Day 2026 with great enthusiasm at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, witnessing vibrant participation from students across classes. The event highlighted the school’s focus on physical fitness, discipline and all-round development.
The programme was graced by Col. Vinay Ahuja, Commanding Officer, 37 Jharkhand Battalion NCC, as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he lauded the school’s efforts in encouraging sports among students and urged young athletes to pursue excellence with determination, discipline and a strong sense of teamwork.
The Sports Day began with an impressive ceremonial march past by the four houses, drawing loud applause from parents, teachers and well-wishers present at the venue. This was followed by a series of track and field events, where students showcased agility, stamina and sportsmanship. Participants competed with great zeal, creating an atmosphere of excitement throughout the day.
The prize distribution ceremony was the highlight of the event. Numan Khan of Class X was declared Best Athlete (Boy) with 12 points, while Alishka Marandi of Class X emerged as Best Athlete (Girl) with an impressive 18 points. Ruby House (Red) won the Best March Past award and also lifted the overall championship with 73 points, while Sapphire House (Blue) finished as runner-up with 66 points.
The chief guest congratulated the winners and encouraged all students to remain actively involved in sports for their physical and mental well-being. Several winners of track and field events were felicitated on the occasion.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal Piyali Ghosh, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, parents, media and staff members for making the event a success.
