Jamshedpur, June 30: Jharkhand Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs Minister Saryu Rai on Tuesday said that the state government is willing to implement Food Security Act in all the districts of the state simultaneously this is the reason proposed implementation of the act in 8 districts of Jharkhand on July 1 has been extended till September 1.
This along with some technical reasons made the implementation a bit delayed. The time we now have will utilize to complete all the pending work and would implement it all over the state on September 1.
Minister was talking to the media persons on Tuesday at Circuit House. Saryu further said that the list prepared has many names missing for which a special campaign will be organized in cities and districts till July 15 and all the names can be added by BLO�s in every booth.
All those who fulfill the criteria can make add their names. Also present at the press meet were BJP District President Nanjee Prasad, General Secretary Mukul Mishra, Spokesperson Anil Modi, Rajesh Singh and Vijay Singh.
The old ration Card will be replaced by new one from first week of July while all the PDS centres will be connected with IT and except week holidays the PDS centres will remain opened all the days.
�Now 80 per cent of village populace and 60 per cent of urban populace would be able to buy at cheap rate from PDS centres.
The government has included pulse, wheat, and salt supply besides rice at PDS centres�.
Rai further said that Jharkhand has only 270 stores for grain and government has decided to add more 220 grain stores.Government has also decided to purchase a large quantity of grain from farmers by December.
