Jamshedpur, Jan 24: The Education Department issued notices on Monday to six private schools for hiking admission fees. It may be mentioned that JPS Baridih, ADLS Sunshine, Tagore Academy, JH Tarapore and DBMS English School have increased the enrollment fee by about 40 to 60 percent.
The notices were sent to these schools after the office opened on Monday. The Education Department, in its notice to the six schools asked under what circumstances the schools had enhanced the enrollment fees and if the enrollment fees had been increased by these schools last year also.
The Department has sought a response from the schools in this matter within 48 hours. District Education Superintendent Vineet Kumar said that after receiving the reply to the notice, action would be taken as per rules. He said that in case of fee hike by any school, permission has to be taken from the District Fee Fixation Committee.
