Nomination process for six Assembly constituencies starts today

Jamshedpur: Notification for the six Assembly constituencies of Jamshedpur will be issued tomorrow. The process of filing nominations will also start simultaneously.

District administration of East Singhbhum has made the preparations in this regard. Candidates may purchase nomination forms from 11 am till 3 pm. They may submit the same before the deadline fixed by the administration.

In view of the beginning of the nomination process, the deputy commissioner Dr Amitabh Kaushal today held a meeting with all returning officers of the six assembly constituencies and the SSP Amol Venukant Homkar.

He directed the officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued in this regard by the Election Commission. He also informed the officials about the recently held training programme in Ranchi.

The DC said the flying squads and static surveillance teams should take prompt action whenever they find anything wrong. Static surveillance teams should also keep vigil at various checkposts and also inspect vehicles if needed. The teams should also keep vigil on liquor and cash.

The DC also designated returning officers for the six Assembly seats. The officers include David Balihar for Baharagora, Girja Shankar Prasad for Ghatsila, Dr Lal Mohan Mahato for Jugsalai, Sunil Kumar for Potka, Balkishun Singh Munda for Jamshedpur West and Prem Ranjan for Jamshedpur East.

The DC has asked the SSP to take stringent action against hooligans and trouble-mongers during election. He said two expenses observers will come to Jamshedpur tomorrow. Six general observers have also been deputed in all the Assembly segments.
