No ration card required for availing widow pension: Jharkhand CM

Ranchi, Oct 26: Chief Minister Hemant Soren made a major announcement saying that no ration card would be necessary for widow to avail pensions.

“The widows who are helpless, they will be provided pension by the government and would not be required to produce ration cards to avail the benefits. We want to reduce their problem in obtaining the benefits,” said Hemant Soren while addressing a function at the Rajabhitta Stadium in Godda district today.

He was addressing the asset distribution program among the beneficiaries along with the foundation stone and inauguration of various schemes.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated various schemes in the district with a cost of Rs 3458.17 lakh and laid the foundation stone of various schemes to be operated at a cost of Rs 2618.49 lakh. The Chief Minister also distributed appointment letters on compassionate grounds, distribution of Pradhan Patta, house keys and acceptance letters to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

 In the program, cheques were distributed among the beneficiaries of Phoolo Jhan Yojana. In the program, assets worth Rs 650 lakh were distributed among the beneficiaries under various schemes of the government.

The Chief Minister said that due to being a very inaccessible area, there used to be power problem here. To strengthen the power system, a power sub-station has also been inaugurated here.

“There is always a discussion about Sundar Dam, how the government is trying to bring prosperity to the villages around it. The foundation stone of irrigation scheme has also been laid under lift irrigation in the displaced village. 10 school buildings are being constructed. Eight ambulances are being made available at the district level for health care. The government is committed for the all-round development of the people through Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, Phool Jhan Yojana,” said Soren.

He also said that the government is giving the benefit of Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Yojana, so that the villagers can make themselves self-sufficient by doing goat rearing, cow rearing, pig rearing etc. He said that the government is working to give eggs to school children 6 days a week. For this, eggs have to be bought from the nearby state. If the villagers keep poultry, then the government will buy eggs from them.

The Chief Minister said that the government is celebrating this year as the year of appointment. Manuals are being prepared by various departments, so that vacant posts in all departments can be filled as soon as possible. Along with this, people will be connected with new employment opportunities.
