Jamshedpur: Saryu Roy meeting on Moharda water project

Jamshedpur, Oct 26: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy held a meeting with Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee special officer, Krishna Kumar and TSUIS (formerly Jusco) water division officials at Circuit House to ensure timely and clean water supply to the people of the area through Moharda Water Supply Scheme.

During the meeting it was discussed that the design of Moharda Drinking Water Supply Scheme has been made in a faulty manner which makes it very difficult to supply water on time to all the houses of Baridih, Bagunnagar, Bagunahatu.
 It was decided to prepare a fresh DPR to enable the scheme operational. JNAC will get the new DPR prepared and a  new pipeline should be laid to provide direct water from the pump house of Moharda to the underground water reservoir which has been created in ‘B’, so that the separate tanks built at Birsanagar, Bagunnagar can be filled in time. it was decided to build three water tanks and underground water storage under the already constructed tank. Along with this, a big settling pond should be built before the Moharda drinking water supply pump house so that the filth of the water taken from the river can be cleaned there and clean water is available in the houses.

A TSUIS official said that the tanks have become so weak that cleaning the workers by raising them up can prove to be dangerous. It was decided that these tanks should be cleaned once, so that the water of the houses does not get dirty. It was decided that while making a DPR, such arrangements should be made on it so that there is no problem in the operation of the scheme for the next 25-30 years and citizens can get drinking water. A decision was also taken to take the water of Moharda drinking water supply scheme to the houses of Vastu Vihar.

In the meeting itself, the special officers of Jamshedpur Axis and the officials of JUSCO were asked about cleaning of the Chhath Ghats, repairing where necessary and marking the danger zone, as well as making changing rooms for the convenience of the devotees, lighting etc
