Ranchi, July 1: Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming visit of Union road transport and highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
In this regard, Union minister of state for Defense Sanjay Seth organized a press conference at the MP office in Argora on Tuesday. Former minister C.P. Singh, MLA Naveen Jaiswal and other local leaders were also present on this occasion.
Sanjay Seth informed that Nitin Gadkari will reach Ranchi on July 3. He will fly from Delhi and reach Ranchi at 10 am and from here he will leave for Garhwa by helicopter. He will return to Ranchi again at 2 pm.

After this, he will garland the statue of Birsa Munda and will reach OTC Ground at Ratu Road via Birsa Chowk, Argora and Shahjanand Chowk, where he will inaugurate the elevated flyover. He told that in this grand event, thousands of people will participate in the ceremony by walking with Nitin Gadkari through bikes, autos and tempos.
During the press conference, Sanjay Seth made sharp comments on the functioning of Ranchi Municipal Corporation. He said that earlier the consumers used to get water bill of Rs 200-300, now the same bill has reached Rs 1000-2000. Along with this, the Municipal Corporation is now planning to collect 5% additional tax, which is becoming a burden for the general public.
Referring to the problem of waterlogging in Ranchi during the rains and the poor condition of power supply, he said that the basic facilities of the city have collapsed, despite this the Municipal Corporation is engaged in collecting tax. Sanjay Seth appealed to the general public not to dirty the pillars of the flyover and not to throw garbage here and there. He said that nowadays even children take care of cleanliness, we should learn from them.
CP Singh and Naveen Jaiswal also raised questions on the functioning of the Municipal Corporation. They raised the issues of waterlogging in Ranchi, power crisis and removal of handcart vendors from the roads.
