Patna: Bihar districts and blocks shine in NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Block Program (ABP) inaugural delta ranking.
Siwan’s Andar block secures the top position in the Eastern Zone, while Jamui becomes the second-best district in the country under the Aspirational District Programme. Bihar, with its effective implementation of schemes in backward regions, demonstrates outstanding performance among the 61 blocks and 13 districts included in the ABP.
The competitive ranking divides 500 blocks into six geographic zones, awarding top spots to two blocks in each zone. Siwan’s Andar and Jharkhand’s Dumka’s Ramgarh triumph in the Eastern Zone. The ABP, fostering governance improvement, focuses on upliftment in the most challenging blocks, aiming to enhance citizens’ quality of life.
The top-ranking block receives a Rs 1.5 crore prize, with Rs 1 crore awarded to the second-ranking block.
