Jamshedpur, Mar 21: Samikhya Mohanty (2023UGMM025) of NIT Jamshedpur secured the first position in a national-level online quiz organized by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on World Consumer Rights Day. The quiz, themed ‘National Standardization Ecosystem and Consumer Rights,’ saw participation from students across IITs, NITs and leading institutes in India.
Samikhya’s exceptional performance earned her a ₹25,000 cash prize, bringing pride to her institution. Congratulating her, NIT Jamshedpur Director Prof. Gautam Sutradhar said, “Her achievement reflects a deep understanding of consumer rights and national standards.”
Beyond competing, Samikhya also played a key role as the quizmaster for “Jago Grahak Jago,” an event focusing on E-Commerce and Advertisement. NSS Program Coordinator Dr. Jayendra Kumar encouraged student participation, strengthening NIT Jamshedpur’s presence in the event. The institute continues to promote leadership, teamwork and critical thinking through such initiatives.
