Jamshedpur: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur organized a one-day National Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence for Educational Institutions: Harnessing AI for Smart Teaching, Learning and Research” on Tuesday. The event drew 250 students, faculty members, and researchers from over 10 educational institutions across Jamshedpur and several Indian states, participating in both online and offline modes.
Inaugural Session and Ethical AI Integration
The Director of NIT Jamshedpur, Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Sutradhar inaugurated the session alongside Prof. Satish Kumar, Dean (Research and Consultancy), and Prof. Ram Vinoy Sharma, Deputy Director. During the gathering, the speakers emphasized the surging importance of artificial intelligence in higher education and advocated for its effective and ethical integration into modern teaching and research practices.
Dignitaries explained how AI-driven tools can significantly boost classroom engagement, refine assessment systems, and facilitate data-driven academic decision-making. They urged faculty and students to adopt these emerging technologies responsibly to drive research innovation and improve academic outcomes. The opening ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jitesh Pradhan, Assistant Professor, followed by the National Anthem.

The workshop aimed to equip educators and students with practical knowledge of AI applications while championing the responsible use of technology. The technical agenda featured keynote lectures from prominent academic leaders, including:

The successful event was coordinated by Dr. Jitesh Pradhan, Dr. B. R. Reddy, and Dr. Deepak Rai from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
