NIT Jamshedpur hosts `Meri Mati Mera Desh’ event  

Jamshedpur, Oct 19: In commemoration of India’s 75th year of Independence, the National Service Scheme (NSS) at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, organised an event titled “Meri Mati Mera Desh” with the motivating tagline “Mitti Ko Naman, Veero Ka Vandan.”

Aligned with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program, the event aimed to pay tribute to India’s accomplishments and express gratitude to its valiant defenders.

Volunteers and professors actively participated in the program by bringing rice and soil from their respective regions, symbolizing the unity of the nation. The collected rice and soil were placed in an urn, destined for Delhi.

This soil will be utilized to establish an “Amrit Vatika” on the Gratitude Path, symbolizing a connection to the land and honoring the nation’s heroes. The program’s objective is to instill a profound sense of national pride and inspire future generations to safeguard India’s cherished heritage.

Under the guidance of College Director Dr. Goutam Sutradhar, Deputy Director Dr. Ram Vinoy Sharma, Student Welfare Dean Prahlad Prasad, and Program Coordinator Dr. Jayendra Kumar, NSS NIT Jamshedpur brought this patriotic occasion to life.

The Kalash, dedicated by the Director, will be sent to Delhi with representatives from Nehru Yuva Kendra and utilized in the construction of Amrit Vatika. The event witnessed active participation from professors and students who took the Panch Pran Pledge, reiterating their commitment to the nation.

The program’s pinnacle was marked by the hoisting of the national flag, symbolizing unity and pride. The collective rendition of the national anthem resonated with the strength and unity of the nation.

NSS NIT Jamshedpur President Ronit Ranjan, along with Aditi Prasad, Tulsi Singh, and Shubham Kumar, extended heartfelt thanks to everyone for their participation and contribution.
