Jamshedpur, Oxt 19: In view of the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal conducted a comprehensive briefing at Police Lines, Golmuri on Thursday.
The gathering included Zonal Magistrates, Magistrates, Police Officers, and Police Forces, and focused on ensuring the effective maintenance of law and order during the auspicious occasion.
The briefing emphasized the need for administrative vigilance throughout Durga Puja, as many pandals have already opened their doors, attracting devotees. Ensuring the safety of devotees became a priority for the district administration, prompting the officials to provide necessary guidelines.
DC Bhajantri directed all deployed officers and police forces to keep essential contact numbers, including those of senior officials from municipal bodies, fire brigades, district control rooms, administration, and police. Additionally, he stressed the importance of pre-checking immersion routes to address potential obstructions.
To create a peaceful environment during the celebrations, the DC emphasized the need for timely contributions, adherence to superior guidelines, and disciplined duty performance. Coordination with puja committees, collection of volunteer lists, identification of additional drop gates, and inspection of CCTV systems were among the key instructions given.
In case of emergencies, the district administration urged immediate communication with superiors for prompt information dissemination. The maintenance of high-quality behavior towards devotees and responsible duty performance were highlighted as crucial aspects of the officials’ roles.
SSP emphasized punctuality, proper uniform attire, cooperative behavior towards devotees, and maintaining a high standard of conduct. Officials were reminded to be proactive in helping lost children and women, ensuring the proper functioning of the miking system, and refraining from unnecessary phone use or social media activity during duty hours.
Among other officials who were present at the briefing included Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, City SP Mukesh Lunayat, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jaideep Tigga, ADM Law and Order Deepu Kumar, all BDOs, COs, DSPs, and police station in-charges.
