Jamshedpur: FACES, the Fine Arts Club of NIT Jamshedpur, hosted a refreshing Live Sketching event at the serene Jubilee Park, blending creativity with nature’s calm. Guided by cultural faculty in-charge Dr. K.K. Sharma, the event attracted art enthusiasts from across the campus, all eager to capture the park’s picturesque beauty on paper.
The event was graced by distinguished guests—Registrar Colonel (Dr.) Nisheeth Kumar Rai (Retd.), Dean Student Welfare R.P. Singh and Director Indrani Sutradhar—who also judged the sketches and encouraged participants with their motivating presence.
The sketching session offered a therapeutic and inspiring atmosphere, allowing students to unwind from academic pressures while engaging deeply with their surroundings. Participants described the experience as both calming and creatively invigorating.
Ajay Pandey (2024PGDIPD02) won first prize for his intricate and emotive sketch. Raj Kumar Saw (2024UGMM061) followed in second place, with Sachin Kumar (2023UGEE042) and Amar Saksham Toppo (2023UGEE087) taking third and fourth positions respectively.
With this event, FACES successfully promoted artistic expression and a stronger connection with nature, leaving participants enriched with memorable experiences and expressive artworks.
