NIT Jamshedpur holds advanced training on Green Credit and Eco-labelling

Jamshedpur: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur successfully wrapped up a 5-day Advanced Management Development Program (A-MDP) on ‘Green Credit Program and Product Eco-Labelling Certification’ from 2nd to 6th March 2025. Sponsored by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, the program aimed to enhance the expertise of 25 industry professionals in the areas of sustainability, green credits and eco-certification processes.

The sessions were led by esteemed academics and industry experts who delved into critical topics such as the carbon credit system, green financing, eco-labelling procedures, circular economy, e-waste management and emission reduction strategies. Participants also had the opportunity to visit Adityapur Waste Management Pvt. Ltd., where they gained hands-on experience in industrial and biomedical waste management practices.

At the valedictory ceremony, the event was graced by prominent figures, including Shri Arun Kumar Mishra (CEO, Adhunik Power and Natural Resources Ltd.), Prof. Goutam Sutradhar (Director, NIT Jamshedpur), Prof. R.V. Sharma (Deputy Director, NIT Jamshedpur), Prof. M.K. Sinha (Dean, R&C) and Dr. N.K. Rai (Registrar, NIT Jamshedpur). The program coordinators Dr. C.M. Rao, Dr. Dinesh Kumar and Dr. Naveen Kumar were commended for their effective organization of the training.

The program concluded with a strong call for industries to integrate sustainable practices and adopt green credit systems and eco-certifications to foster a balance between environmental sustainability and economic growth.
